What is an effluent disposal area plan?

The effluent disposal area plan should be drawn to scale not less than 1:100 on no larger than A3 size paper and indicate the following:

  • Location and dimensions of all existing and proposed buildings, access points and fences
  • Location of existing and/or proposed waste water management systems (including septic tanks) and effluent disposal areas on the property
  • Location and length of all effluent lines/irrigation areas or other effluent disposal method, water pipes, drainage lines or water courses
  • Location of any contamination, fill or rock outcrops
  • Location of trees and significant vegetation
  • Distance between the house and the septic tank
  • A house (floor) plan
  • Names of the streets at the closest intersection
  • Direction of north
  • Location of all vents; and inspection openings
  • Clearly illustrate all fixtures
  • The fall and contours of the land
