View an example of meeting Clause 52.06 – car spaces required

Here’s an example of how you may be meeting the car parking requirements:

Clause 52.06 states that car parking is required at the following rates (where outside a PO – Parking Overlay):

  • Convenience shop – Ten (10) car spaces to each premises where the leasable floor area exceeds 80m2; and
  • Shop- 4 spaces per 100 square metres of leasable floor area.

A permit may be granted to reduce or waive the number of car spaces required by this Clause.

The proposal therefore generates a parking requirement of eighteen (18) spaces as follows:

  • Convenience store (234m2): 10 spaces
  • Bottle shop (80m2) (defined as ‘shop’): 4 spaces
  • Video store (60m2) (defined as ‘shop’): 4 spaces

Total: 18 spaces

The existing use has a sealed, at-grade car park consisting of eighteen (18) spaces. No permit for the reduction of statutory car parking rates is therefore sought.
