How to calculate parking spaces required by Clause 52.06-5

The number of car parking spaces required is based on what the land is used for. Different uses are listed in Table 1 of Clause 52.06-5. The number of car parking spaces required for most new uses, or an extension to an existing use, can be calculated from this table.

The number of car parking spaces is determined by multiplying the applicable rate, in either Column A or B, by the measure specified in Column C. If incalculating the number of car parking spaces the result is not a whole number, the required number of car parking spaces is to be rounded down to the nearest whole number.
