How to estimate the cost of development
- Costs are required solely to allow council to calculate the permit application fee. (VicSmart fees change once costs are more than $10,000)
- Development costs should be calculated at a normal industry rate for the type of construction you propose.
- This cost does not include the costs of development that you could undertake without a permit or that are separate from the permit process.
- Insert ‘$0’ if there is no cost for the development – ie if you are subdividing.
- note: the council may ask you to justify your cost estimates.
