These parts of the planning scheme relate to car parking and outline what information is required to be submitted for parking spaces in a planning permit application in Victoria. They include standards for design and conditions of reducing parking spaces, including calculating financial contributions.
Clause 52.06 Car Parking
These car parking provisions set out state standard planning scheme requirements about the number of car parking spaces required and the design requirements of car parking spaces. View Clause 52.06 Car Parking.
Clause 45.09 Parking Overlay
All local car parking variations to the state standard must be provided using the Parking Overlay. These are shown on the planning scheme maps as PO with a number. The parking overlay enables variations to the standard requirements in Clause 52.06 for a particular area or precinct. These requirements override the standard requirements at Clause 52.06. View Clause 45.09 Parking Overlay.
Car parking requirements may also be specified in some other provisions of the planning scheme such as a schedule to a zone or overlay. A local policy cannot be used to apply variations.
